USB drive is a data storage gadget incorporated with universal serial bus interface. It is a portable device that can be plugged into a computer USB port and functions as an external hard drive. As USB drives are easy-to-use, small enough to carry in a pocket and can be plugged into any computer, most of the Mac users prefer these devices to transfer the data from one computer to other or to store the important data. USB drives are also known as jump drives, thumb drives, pen drives, tokens, key drives or simply USB drives.

Most of the user prefers to store photos in USB drive as it portable and has different storage capacity ranging from several MB’s to several GB’s. Users may come across some issues which may lead to lose their important photos present in the USB drive. It might be due to formatting of the drive, virus attack, etc. Sometimes users may accidentally format the wrong drive instead of formatting the drive which they wanted to format.

Formatting of the USB drive is done when the user wants to delete the recent data and input new files in it. What if you format the USB drive accidentally in Mac system and lose all your photos? Can the photos be restored? Yes, you can perform Mac photo recovery from formatted USB drive and get back all photos which were lost due to formatting. Formatting will never erase your files from USB drive, it only erases the pointer which points to the stored location of the file and marks the space as free but the actual data still resides on the stored sector until it is overwritten with new data. Such files can be easily recovered with the aid of best Mac lost photo recovery software. Once you find that you have lost any data after formatting, you should not perform any read or write operation on the USB drive.

Remo Recover (Mac) – Media edition is an advanced Mac photo recovery software that helps you to recover photo from formatted or corrupt hard disk drive, SD Card, CF Card, memory stick, FireWire, memory cards and USB hard drives easily and quickly.

Generally, all portable electronic devices have a slot for keeping memory cards to store large amount of data. Memory cards replaced floppy disks because of their size and storage capacity, which cannot be used in smaller handheld devices. Memory cards are widely used in digital cameras, video camcorders, mobile phones, MP3 players, etc. The information stored on the memory card can be accessed using card reader. Memory card uses flash technology to store data. At present, most of the professional digital SLR’s uses memory cards to store large number of photos. Hence memory cards are much popular in the field of digital photography.

You can store photos in your system or in any other storage device. Usually people store them in their personal computer with Mac operating system as it provides a crystal clear view of pictures and it offers a built-in tool called iPhoto to manipulate the image files. As memory card use NAND flash technology, they are not susceptible to physical damages. But, sometimes they may encounter some logical problems resulting in loss of digital data.

There are many reasons which may lead to corruption of pictures or data loss in memory cards. Some common scenarios are like;

Accidental deletion of photos by pressing command + delete key combination or formatting of memory card and improper shutting down of the computer leads to data loss.

Data loss can also occur if you transfer or copy photos from one storage medium to another.

Virus infection is the most risky thing.

Catalog files corruption.

When the memory card is pulled out abruptly from card reader/camera during write process.

Capturing photo when camera is on low battery may lead to loss of that captured photo.

Usage of same memory card in different digital devices can also be the cause of data loss.

Whatever may be the reason for the corruption of pictures in memory card, Mac photo recovery software will always help you to restore all deleted, lost or corrupted files. Remo Recover (Mac) – Media Edition is an effective recovery software, which helps you to recover lost or deleted photos from different types of memory cards like SD, CF, MMC and XD memory cards.

Secure Digital (SD) cards are compact removable storage drives which are used in portable media devices. SD cards use flash memory to store the digital files and use FAT file system to store and retrieve the files. Since SD cards are compact in size, provide huge storage space and easy to use, most of the popular brands of digital cameras like Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Fujifilm, Kodak and others use SD cards to store the captured images. Hence SD cards are much popular in the field of digital photography.

When it comes to storage of captured photos, most of the people prefer their personal computers with Mac operating system, because Mac OS X provides a crystal clear view of the images and it offers a built-in tool called iPhoto to manipulate the image files.

There are times in which the users lose their photos from SD card due to formatting the card.

Can Remo Recover Photo (Mac) tool fix corrupted image files? I have many images CR2 and JPEG on a drive that can’t open; I suspect they are corrupted in some way.

Corrupted files are those which become non-functional altogether. When you try to open a corrupt image file you find it is garbled by colors and line or may be it may simply refuse to open and reports an error. An image file can get corrupt due to various reasons like a glitch in the operating system or in the program utilizing the file, hard drive bad sectors, improper file saving procedure, system crash or a computer virus. Some of the typical error messages that indicate image file corruption are:

Cannot open file

File data inaccessible

No Preview Available – Windows Explorer

Drawing Failed – Windows Picture & Fax Viewer

This document may be damaged (the file may be truncated or incomplete) – Photoshop

Can’t read file header! Unknown file format or file not found! – IrfanView

Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found – Photoshop

Mac OS X prompts for disk initialization when digital camera memory card is just connected.

Corruption caused due to accidental removal of memory card from digital camera during photo processing.

File system corruption in storage media.

Camera turned off un-intentionally.

Storage media being pulled out from camera during write process.
